The Award-Winning Tesser Lamps

Boasting clean geometric forms inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, Ridezign’s Tesser Lamps are a love letter to the architecture of New York City.

The contemporary lighting designs that fascinate us often tell a story, whether it’s lamps that explore the memory of childhood toys, a minimalist chandelier that reinterprets and refines traditional designs, or an adorable portable lamp full of charm. The Tesser Lamps are a perfect example. Inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, these modern lamps from Brooklyn-based brand Ridezign boast clean geometric forms that pay homage to the architecture of New York City, offering a fresh take on classic table and desk lamps.

A story of contrasts, the Tesser collection combines the accuracy of clear grid patterns that define many of NYC’s skyscrapers with the warmth of soft light. And the result? Architectural table lamps that may look like decorative objects even when not in use, but come to life as light sculptures when they illuminate with a cozy glow.

Ridezign uses advanced 3D printing technology and bioplastics (PLA) or recycled plastics (PETG) to produce the Tesser range, making these lamps environmentally-conscious and a great example of sustainable lighting design. Inside the beautifully balanced volumes that give a nod to the Fibonacci sequence, eco-friendly LED lights illuminate with a gently diffused glow. Rechargeable batteries allow users to carry their Tesser lamp with ease while offering up to 3o hours or cordless illumination, depending on the lamp version. Which takes us to the different options design and architecture lovers can choose from in the Tesser collection.

The smallest lamp is the Tesser 5:3, which suits shelves and bedside tables perfectly, but also allows users to convert it into a wall sconce with the Tesser Sconce Adapter. This lamp also comes in an XL version that looks great on a dining table or a coffee table. The Tesser 8:3 and Tesser 5:8 lamps play with the proportions of the 5:3 model, featuring a taller top or a taller base, respectively. Designed with stacked modular forms in three configurations, the Tesser Towers have a distinctive architectural presence to create focal points anywhere in a room. Finally, the Tesser lamps come in six gorgeous colors: Granite, Amber, Cherry, Butter, Guava, and Lavender.
