Renovated Family Home in Estoril

View all 22 Photos

This large house was originally built in 1923 in Estoril, Portugal. Renovated by Ricardo Moreno Arquitectos, the building retains the original exterior walls but otherwise resembles a modern family home. The interior is textured with polished wood and exposed brick to an altogether warm effect. The rooms range from a study to an attic playground, encapsulating much of the family’s needs. In the middle of the design, there is a private courtyard with a shaded deck and a pool. Partially shielded by whitewashed wooden slats, the deck provides a nice intermediary space between the interior and the yard before dropping off right at the edge of the pool.
